The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography has begun 4 projects financed by the Administration of National Cultural Fund. The projects will be developed between April and November 2013. We present in the followings two of them, promising in the future another news about the other two: 1. Silence – a Surmountable Barrier – April, 22 – November, 15 – 2013 Cultural project financed by the Administration of National Cultural Fund. For this project, our partners are: School „Ioan Bob”, Technological Highschool for people with hearing impaired, Music Highschool „Sigismund Toduţă”, Theoretic Highschool „Gelu Voievod”, Association „Modus Vivendi”. The project proposes to promote the cultural diversity and the multiculturalism of the cultural diversity within the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography by using modern methods of visibility, available to the most various categories of public including people with hearing impaired, too. In addition, the project proposes the integration and social inclusion of the deaf-blind persons (children with hearing impaired and impaired verbal communication), their access to the culture, to know the cultural heritage of the Museum. The project is, also, for children in the primary school who would be sensitized to the special needs of the children with hearing impaired and impaired verbal communication. Taking into consideration that the school curricula contains a low interest to the ethnography and the folklore, the museum, as an institution with educative complementary valances, proposes to enrich the educational offer by development of the educational, social and informational role. The activities of the cultural project: Objective 1: Making 4 groups of mixed pupils. This objective tries to integrate the children with hearing impaired by creating a mixed group of pupils; Objective 2: Making and applying of some museum techniques adapted to the special needs of the aimed group. The objective tries to create some workshops of museum education in which the groups of children would develop their activity, together with the teachers, museum specialists and partners; Objective 3: The dissemination of the project result: visibility activities, organising an exhibition, and making PR materials. 2. Preservation of the Imaging Heritage of the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography. Preservation and Digitization of the Negatives on Celluloid and of the Slides on Glass and Celluloid from the First Half of the 20th Century Cultural project financed by the Administration of National Cultural Fund. For this project, our partner is the Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Romanian Literature and Literature Theory. The project proposes to continue the preservation of the imaging patrimony of the Museum and to make a data base regarding this patrimony. In 2012, the Museum implemented a project (financed by the Administration) which had as a main objective the digitisation (scanning and introducing of the information in the data base) of the negatives on glass (1903-1930) in the museum collection. There were digitised a number of 5,691 negatives on glass. The activities of the cultural project: Objective 1: To continue the digitisation of the imaging heritage of the Museum. The objective supposes to put on a digital support the negatives on celluloid and the slides on glass and celluloid from the first half of the 20th century; Objective 2: Preservation of the negatives on celluloid and the slides on glass and celluloid within the Museum patrimony. The objective supposes to ensure the best conditions of microclimate necessary to the preservation of the negatives after scanning them; Objective 3: Dissemination of the project results: part of the photos to be posted on the Museum website, making of some visibility materials (flyers, booklets), promotion of the project in the audio-visual, written press and internet, organising of an exhibition of ethnographic photo with the most important pieces of the collection.
