The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography organises in 14th of July 2013, at 10.30, the event “Music, dance and other cultural traditions in Frata, Cluj County”, action that takes place within the project “Promoting the local cultural traditional values in the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography: Frata Commune, Cluj County”, a project financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN) The project consists of bringing in the museum of a rural actual community that still keeps values of the traditional culture and civilisation in its way of life, the goal of the whole step being the promotion of these values among the visiting public and audience. The main action of the project is the event that will take place in the Ethnographic National Park “Romulus Vuia” (the open-air section of the Museum) on 14th of July 2013. Held during one Sunday, the activities of presentation, promotion and popularization will have an interdisciplinary and mainly competitive nature and will be developed in various farmsteads and locations in the Ethnographic National Park “Romulus Vuia”. The event will be made of interactive presentations of the local musical and choreological cultures (very rich ones), of presentations of local culinary products, of presentations of the local traditional costumes, of actions that focus on children (small dance and dances from the past) etc. All of these try to offer to the visiting public of the Ethnographic National Park “Romulus Vuia” not only a pleasant way of spending the free time, but also a direct meeting with the investigated community members, doubled by presentations of the ethnologist specialists on the studied topics in the commune’s villages. The project “Promoting the local cultural traditional values in the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography: Frata Commune, Cluj County”, financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN), is coordinated by dr. Silvestru Petac, museologist.
