The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution functioning under the authority of the Cluj County Council, in partnership with the Association for Artistic Innovation (A.I.A.) invite you to the Village Fair, an event which will take place in August 27-29, 2021, in the “Romulus Vuia” National Ethnographic Park (Tăietura Turcului street).
The Village Fair is an event which aims to promote local producers and to connect them with the Cluj public. Everything in a picturesque atmosphere, in which we try to offer participants the experience of the Romanian village, through various craft workshops, creative workshops for children and adults, but also by creating a welcoming relaxation space.
In order to bring the weekend as close as possible to the village atmosphere, those who will visit the Ethnographic Park will be able to enjoy live folk music. In order to experience even more the village life, visitors will have the chance to take a horseback ride.
The third edition brings to the visitors’ attention various producers, and the ones attending the event can go home with local food and ingredients (honey, vegetables, zacusca, sarmale, jam, cheese), natural soaps and cosmetics, soy wax candles, lavender products, knitwear, polymeric clay, silver or copper jewelry, children toys and articles made of cotton, and many, many more.
Once past the museum gate, they will also discover decorative objects (for house and garden), clothing and accessories, gifts, entertainment.
The fair schedule is as follows: Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. On Friday, the last entry in the ethnographic park is at 5 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, park access is allowed until 6 p.m.
The park access, on Saturday and Sunday between 10-11 a.m. and 5-6 p.m. is made on entry ticket purchased at the ticket office from the main park entry and it is the usual museum fee. Throughout Friday, the ticket price stays the same (6 lei for adults, 3 lei for students and pensioners, 1.5 lei for students and preschoolers). On Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., the ticket costs 15 lei and it can be purchased online, via IaBilet (https://www.iabilet.ro/bilete-cluj-aia-la-sat-editia-a -4-a-66939/) or at the museum entry.
