The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution functioning under the authority of the Cluj County Council, in collaboration with the Foundation of the Transylvanian House Traditions, invites you on Wednesday, 10.05.2023, at 2 p.m., to the opening of the exhibition “A universe of fairy tales in miniatures. Dollhouses representing interiors from Völgység-Hegyhát (Hungary)”, which will take place in the Reduta Palace (headquarters of the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, 21, Memo street).
The curator of the exhibition and the creator of the exhibits is Ament Éva, an artist from Hungary who has been in charge, for three decades, of researching the traditional painted decoration specific to different ethnographic areas and applying them to contemporary pieces. For twenty years, Ament Éva has also been making “doll houses”, miniatures on a scale of 1:10, with peasant interiors specific to the areas of Baranyai Hegyhát - Tolnai Völgység (Hungary). This latter activity, inspired by the childhood years spent in the Swabian villages in the above-mentioned area, has become a real passion for the artist, shared with visitors through the exhibitions she created.
The exhibition will be open from May 10 to June 18, 2023, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., last entry at 5 p.m.
