The Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, an institution subordinated to the Cluj County Council, is hosting the Mineralia Autumn Salon, from October 4-6, 2024.
Each time, the Mineralia Salon is organized around a stone. This edition is dedicated to tourmaline.
Tourmaline, also known as the "colored stone", was first brought to Europe in the early 18th century, when the Dutch brought samples from Sri-Lanka due to the high demand for gemstones for jewelry. Tourmaline has become highly prized for the wonderful colors it offers (there are even multicolored stones), and its name is also related to this aspect of color diversity - "turamali" (mixed colors).
Although it is not one of the 4 gemstones, tourmaline has nowadays come to compete with them. Whether it is green, pink, yellow, blue or black, due to its special transparency and brilliance, jewelry made from this mineral is exquisite. Tourmaline has thus become the gem of modern times.
At the Mineralia Autumn Show you can discover this fascinating mineral in unworked samples, natural crystals, polished and faceted pieces, gem-quality collectibles or mounted in ornaments and jewelry at the fall edition of the Mineralia Exhibition.
The Mineralia Salon is hosted from October 4-6, 2024, in the Cellarium Gallery, at the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania, 21 Memorandum Street, Cluj-Napoca.

Situated in the historical centre of the city. The access to the information is facilitated for various categories of persons with disabilities by a permanent tactile exhibition designed especially to the persons with visual impairments and by special platforms that make possible the access for the persons with locomotive disabilities.

The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography has 3 museum shops where the traditional arts and souvenirs lovers could buy items made by the contemporary folk craftsmen and artists in Romania. The museum shops offer to the visitors various traditional items (folk costumes, popttery recipients, cups, plates, textile fabrics tablecloths and towels, traditional hat, icons on wood and on glass etc.) rigorously selected by the scientific museum staff.
