THE ARMENIAN COURT FESTIVAL 2026
On July 10 and 11, from 12:00 a.m. – 06:00 p.m., the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography will host the Armenian Court Festival, an event where visitors can experience, admire, and discover these traditions.
The 7th edition of the Armenian Court Festival features music, traditional dances, book and film premieres, a handicraft exhibition, and unforgettable moments for all visitors.
The festival opens on Friday, July 10, at 05:00 p.m. with a performance of Armenian dances. The Hayakaghak Ensemble from Gherla will be returning to the festival, as they do every year, bringing the energy, elegance and authenticity of traditional Armenian dances to the stage.
Also on Friday, the book “150 Poems” by Varujan Vosganian will be launched at 6 p.m.
On both festival days, attendees have the opportunity to visit booths dedicated to Armenian culture, featuring books, rugs, traditional costumes, jewelry, coffee, and other items that reflect a rich and vibrant heritage. It’s a chance to take home a piece of this community’s story.
On Saturday, July 11, there will be a Greek dance show, a concert by the Con Anima Quartet, a film screening by Armine Vosganian and a concert featuring the Armenian wind instrument, the duduk.
The ensemble was founded in 2020 at the ‘Gheorghe Dima’ National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca. It brings together young female musicians who have won awards at national and international competitions, and who are dedicated to promoting chamber music.
The ‘Cosmin Rafael Bălean’ Band invites you to discover the beauty of the duduk, a traditional Armenian instrument with a unique, deep, and emotionally rich sound. A musical experience that brings you closer to the spirit and sensibility of Armenian culture.
