This study investigates a funeral rite in the area of Nădlac, Arad county: "Păștițele", the custom of going to the cemetery, at the graves of the deceased relatives, on the first Sunday after Easter and to offer red eggs and colac (a type of braided bread or cake) to the people present in the cemetery. It is a custom competed by the ”Lighting Holiday”. It is not of Catholic origin, but of Orthodox origin.
