On 19th and 20th of May 2022, there were the final conferences of two projects financed through the SEE 2014-2021 grants, within the RO-CULTURA project.
Thursday, May 19, began with a training held by the NUDA AS association, which focused on the impact of multimedia technology in museums. After the course, the final conference of the project Innovative Techniques in Capitalizing the Cultural Heritage. Icons from the Sebeș Valley in the MET collection began. The project was presented, emphasizing its results, i.e. 66 restored or preserved icons within the project, which are the object of an innovative exhibition opened at the institution’s headquarters. After presentations made at the conference, participants had the opportunity to visit the exhibitions within the projects and to try the interaction with the VR technology. The event ended with a press conference.
The next day, Friday, May 20, the conference of the second project took place, Horea’s Church - a heritage for the future. Capitalizing on an 18th century architectural monument through virtual reality. 56 objects, belonging to the church at the Ethnographic Park, were restored and preserved within the project, which are presented in an innovative exhibition.
Both exhibitions can also be visited through virtual reality, the unique element of the two projects, this digitization and scanning work belonging to our collaborators from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
