The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution that functions under the authority of the Cluj County Council, invites you on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., to the opening of the painting exhibition “Customs and Faith” by the artist Maria Fărcășan, at the museum’s headquarters, on 21, Memorandum street, in the Cellarium Gallery.
The exhibition addresses various aspects of the Romanian folklore and captures fragments of popular piety. The reason for approaching the present exhibition themes was the artist’s personal desire to continue and deepen the study of the Romanian folk traditions, a study that was started during her university years, through various works related to traditional themes, such as the bachelor’s thesis on traditional crafts entitled “Guilds forgotten in time”, and her master’s thesis in sculpture which studies and presents the “călușari” dance in stylized form.
The exhibition will be open from March 23 to April 7, 2024, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., last entry at 5 p.m.
