The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution operating under the authority of the Cluj County Council, invites you to the MINERALIA exhibition, between October 6-8, 2023.
Autumn comes to Cluj with a colorful exhibition, a unique opportunity to discover the wonderful world of crystals. For ladies and gentlemen, unique jewelry made of gemstones, precious and semi-precious, will be presented: blue aquamarine, malachite with shades of green, purple amethyst, yellow citrine, golden amber, red coral, pearls with pearly white sparkles, multicolored tourmaline. Collectors or mineral enthusiasts will find natural quartz or pyrite crystals, samples of hundreds of mineral species, rocks, carved objects, agates, geodes and fossils.
The star of this edition will be the PYRITE. An iron sulphide, the pyrite frequently occurs in various rocks, easily recognizable due to its brilliance. The bright golden color has made it known as “fool’s gold”, being often confused with the noble metal. The most important feature for rough pieces is its appearance in the form of perfect cubic crystals, hard to match in the mineral world. Massive pieces of pyrite can be cut, then polished or faceted, in order to create monomineral jewelry or to complete complex mounts.
We are waiting for you for 3 days, at the TRANSYLVANIAN MUSEUM OF ETHNOGRAPHY, Cellarium Gallery, daily schedule: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., last entry at 5 p.m.
