In the area, embroidery is called “sewing” and embroidered textiles are called “seams”. The used techniques are: by drawing (writing), called írásos, on thread, in double crosses and with cuts. The name “írásos” refers to the preliminary drawing of the pattern on canvas.
By valorizing the rich museum heritage, the exhibition presents very ancient pieces and of an important aesthetic, historical and identity value, embroidered in this technique. At the same time, through several pieces, the exhibition refers to the impact of this type of embroidery on the interiors of the urban environment.
