The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution functioning under the authority of the Cluj County Council, invites you to the exhibition “Mineralia. Spring Crystals”, which will take place in February 23-25, 2024, in the Cellarium Gallery, at the museum’s headquarters (21, Memorandum street).
We welcome spring and Mǎrtişor with a new edition of the exhibition entirely dedicated to the most beautiful products of the mineral world - ornamental stones and gemstones.
Natural ornamental stones are various minerals or their combinations, formed during the Earth’s million-year geological history, found by people as a consequence of exploration. Lapis lazuli, malachite, agates have been used since ancient times for ornaments.
Pieces that present crystals are selected and kept in their natural state without other interventions - quartz crystals, tourmaline prisms, perfect pyrite cubes - being extremely appreciated by passionate collectors.
